Jude Mark: 5 Months Old!

I have a 5 month old... each month goes by and I am shocked. Ha! I love my baby boy and am still in awe that I was intrusted this sweet baby to raise and love on. What a joy!

Jude is almost 13lbs! He is still a peanut!

We had a lot of fun firsts this month including AVOCADO'S! He loves them and was showing all the signs for wanting to start so we did. The good fat in them is helping him gain weight and grow, grow, grow!!

We also went to the State Fair for the first time this month... went to Duluth for the first time & had daddy home with us for 3 weeks this summer.

It has been a hard month with just feeling like I was adequate as his mama, but I am learning and growing so much too in this new role. We are supplementing his feedings and he is gaining about 1/2lb a week! Good boy!

He nurses & takes his bottle every 2 1/2 hours... growing, growing! We think his toothers may be sprouting up but there is no cutting yet. He will sleep for 10 hours at a time in the night... not complaining once single bit.

I'm convinced his is one of the happiest, most content babies. He is the most smily when daddy is tickling him but just loves being around people. That's his favorite thing in the world!!!!

Here is a small video of him eating his avacado's for the first time...

Milestones this month:
** Laughing all the time
** Solid foods (avacados!)
** Holding your bottle with your hands
** LOVES his bath time - wants to swim away!

Dear Jude,
Everyday I can't get over the fact that you are mine. You are called Jude Thurston, our son... this is a high calling as your parents. We couldn't be more proud of you as our sweet baby boy. You are growing and we are so happy that you are a content and happy baby. We feel so blessed. God has big things in store for you - we are already praying these things over your sweet live. We love you bug!

How is it that motherhood immediately can make us feel inadequate?
He's beautiful, and you are doing such a great job!
You should read Lisa-Jo Baker's blog if you haven't already... it's so good. She writes lots on motherhood and how much work it is :) It's been good for my heart.
