Be Thou My Vision

I've always had 20/20 vision ... Much to my dismay ;). There was something SO cool about glasses and I never got to have them (well except for the fake pair I purchased with no prescription in the glass). Ha. How weird am I?
Being a new mama, a wife and many other titles I find myself checking my vision often. Is my vision 20/20 on Jesus?! Or am I trying so hard to control things and lose sight of the important things...? What a challenging thought.

I heard the hymn "Be thou my vision" this morning. It always challenges me and encourages me when I take in these words....

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise,

Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, put first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

You are so incredibly positive...and wise, my dear sweet Ria! Yes, I remember your "fake" fashion glasses...so much fun! Thanks for the reminder of keeping our eyes on Jesus...it's the only way to see straight...or clear!!
