The small things

October is just around the corner and I always feel like my favorite season of Fall is just so quickly taken away from me... Lately I have been thinking about EMBRACING moments in our lives.

Maybe it's because I am getting older ;) or maybe it's because I am about to be a Mama (well in a few months...) but I just want to capture each moment and embrace the little things in life. I am one to get SO busy doing, doing, doing that I forget the small moments

Our puppy reminds me of that all the time. She will just sit on our couch and look out the window for hours and hours (until she sees a biker or person and then she barks :))... but sometimes I wish I could just watch the leaves blow in the wind, smell the fresh air outside and be reminded of God's beautiful handiwork.

... Or when we have a night at home (just Josh and I) we just sit together, turn off our computers and enjoy some time to just BE.

... Or when I am at a photo shoot, pick up a beautiful fall red leaf and save it because that's what we did when we were kids.

.... Or volunteer to do something that I don't really have time for, but because these things only happen once a year... it is truly worth it.

... Or just take one Saturday off in October and not schedule any photo shoots... because I have the ability to say no when life is too short!

What are you doing to embrace the small things in life? I want to know! :)

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

Snuggeling! I love to come home and snuggle up with Dom, he is starting to nestle his head into my neck and I love it!

Check out Jillian and my movement we are trying to start!

My dogs do the same thing. Except they bark if anything goes by, like a leaf or a squirrel. :)

I'm working on embracing the small things in life.

Now that the school year has started, I have 3 hours to myself a few days a week. I have been trying to do things for me during that time. So whether that means taking the doxies for a walk through the neighborhood, going for a bike ride, or just curling up with a good book, I try to take those moments for me.

Oh you know my dogs do the same for me! I always tell Michael it's so fun to watch them. Sophie will just sit in her bed at the back door and stare for hours and she doesnt bark (unlike the other two!) she just sits and embraces the wind blowing or the kitty that comes and visits everyday. so sweet!

we're enjoying the nights at home...even if it includes catching up on the dvr. I'm so enjoying just curling up on the couch and watching tv with my hubby...those days are all too fleeting for us right now!
