Sparkle!

I mentioned yesterday that I attended the SPARKLE conference in Apple Valley last Friday. I wish I would have known how amazing this conference was... and I seriously would have brought EVERY girl I know ;) And, I was only able to go Friday night... Saturday was probably amazing too!

The message was real and relevant to {I think} EVERY woman that was there. I have a soap box and that is about SEASONS of our lives. Ask my real life friends.. they know this :)

Just like there are seasons outside... God brings us through SEASONS in our lives. I think we can all agree, even if we aren't sure about the whole GOD thing.. :)

Back to SPARKLE. Priscilla was talking about how we often SLEEPWALK through these different seasons in hopes for the NEXT season. I am a guilty of this for sure. Example: We want to be married so bad that we SLEEPWALK through our singleness... then we enter marriage {wonderfully, blissfully} and we SLEEPWALK through and dream about starting a family... and so on... I SO DO THIS! Is anyone with me??

In the process of SLEEPWALKING we can so miss out on what God is doing today because we want to see what he'll do tomorrow. There are MANY places in scripture that show people were actually WITH Jesus and yet missed it.

Here is what I learned...

1. God places us in these places and they are SACRED! He knew exactly what we were going to be walking through!

2. There is GOD stuff in the HARD stuff. Preach it, right? God gives us "stones" in these seasons. Just like he did in the bible .. physically for Jacob... as a REMINDER. He gives US reminders!

3. Confirmation: When life does not affirm - God will go OUT OF HIS WAY to confirm.

My thoughts are most likely all jumbled together, but I think you get the gist?! What season are YOU in right now? What does that look like? Maybe it is really hard and challenging or maybe it is amazing. Whatever it is... there is something sacred and beautiful about it!

The bible shares,
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up" Gal 6:9

This verse has ALWAYS been encouragement to me. God will allow us to reap harvests in our lives if we just hold fast, trust him and realize there is GOOD stuff in the HARD stuff!!

i absoLUTELY do this!!
It's so sad. I hate that I am never content with the 'season' i am in! That is a huge prayer of mine that I can live each and every part of my life to the fullest, seeking for what He is teaching me through a time, whether it be hard or good. I'm glad I'm not alone : )

so soo soooo true! I just blogged about this last week. I have been asking the Lord to teach me contentment! I am always look toward the NEXT season of life instead of being thankful for the blessing that THIS season of life is!

It is really true! I hadn't planned on getting married till I was about 30 but I knew I wanted to at least KNOW who i was getting married to--dating is sooo exhausting! After my last breakup i decided I was going to focus on enjoying my Singlehood! A month later, i met my now-husband! i'm enjoying our newlywed years though ...I hope the babies don't come for another few years : D

I like the imagery of sleepwalking because it is so accurate. I felt this way about my newborns, when I was so exhausted all the time...I just couldn't wait till I could sleep again!

I love the way you worded this! I just wrote something similar "are we there yet?" I'm seriously stuck in this sometimes. Great reminder!

G-O-D and G-O-O-D....I knew there was a reason these words were so close together. That extra O in Good must be for Oprah ;)

This is definitely true! I've been really struggling with this lately too. I'm trying to enjoy every day in THIS season. I don't want to miss something because I'm so focused on the next one!

That is so beautiful and true! I find myself living for tomorrow all the time instead of enjoying what God has given me today. Either way, He is amazing every day!
You have a really cute blog by the way :-)
