I have always loved the song... "Calliiiifornia, Here we Come...."
And, it's becoming a reality September 4th - September 7th!

Josh and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary in Cali :)

It's official! We first thought San Fran, then after looking... San Diego seems much nicer weather-wise in September. We are thrilled and had a free flight that we needed to use, so it only made sense to fly somewhere special! :) So thankful and feel blessed!!!!

We are going to be doing a little of this....

Oh and probably this...

Thanks to our sweet friend, Jan we got a great rate on a hotel stay for our time there! We couldn't be more excited!! California, friends... We need YOUR help!

Where do we HAVE to go to?
What restaurants do you suggest?
Any other ideas/comments?

Happy, Happy... now to just wait patiently for 24 days... 3 weeks... not bad! :) Happy Wednesday! Welcome to my iFellowship friends, I hope some of you are from Cali to share insight!!!

so fun! I used to live there, the weather is GORGEOUS!

Definitely hit up the zoo, it's just as good as everyone says.

Ria, this is where I grew up!! San Diego is beautiful -- the zoo is in Balboa Park which has wonderful museums and is just so pretty and scenic. Old Town is a great place to walk around -- some fantastic restaurants and the buildings/museums down there are mostly free. It'll give you a good taste of what SD was like "in the beginning."

Honestly, though, you'll probably just want to spend your days at the beach -- just like everyone who lives there! Mission Beach is fun (but rowdy) and the Cove in La Jolla will literally take your breath away. La Jolla Shores is a great beach, lots of sand, very little seaweed and gentle breaks for boogie boarding or to try your hand at surfing.

Give me a call, 'cuz, or drop me a note on FB if you want more info.

You will have a BLAST!!!! Love you!

Ria! I'm so excited you'll be going to CA! I lived about 2 1/2 hours from San Diego growing up... I would suggest also visiting - if you have time - the Coronado bay, it's beautiful and the drive on the bridge over to the little island is fun!
I also recommend trying In-n-Out Burger and/or Dell Taco! Those are some of my favorites that we don't have out here!
Congratulations on one year! :D Have funnn!!

How fun! In-N-Out and Del Taco are my California favorites too :)

In-N-Out definitely! :-) Although if you don't want to stand in long lines and not be crowded go during off hours (i.e. not at regular lunch or dinner times). They get SO crowded! :-)

If you're into WW2 history you can visit the USS Midway. It's so fascinating!

Oh the weather is going to be Beautiful at that time!
And yes definitly go to the SD Zoo.It's awesome!! There is also the San Diego Wild Life park but it's about an hour north of the zoo I think. But that's another great place to go!
And SeaPort Village is a fun place to visit along the ocean. You can find some really fun places to eat there! Your gonna have so much fun! San Diego is awesome!!

So much fun! I can't say I've been, so sadly, I have no advice, but it sounds like a blast- I can't wait to hear your review of San Diego.

Happy Anniversary!

I grew up in San Diego and we also got married there! I love SD.

The Zoo is great. SO is seaworld. Mission Beach and La Jolla Shores are great beaches to visit.

Two of my fav restaurants are Blue Point in Downtown SD and The Prado in Balboa Park. Both are great for a nice meal.

Balboa park is right next to the zoo and is so fun to walk around.

Ahh so exciting! As a born and raised San Diego person I gotta say its beautiful here.

I definitely recommend checking out the Zoo. Also right next "door" is Balboa Park, its a huge area with old buildings and museums and gardens, its a photographers paradise!

I hope you two have a wonderful time!

Sounds like a great place to celebrate! San Diego is on my short list of places to visit since I know two people there. If I talk to them soon and get any recommendations, I'll let you know!

We just left San Diego a few months ago after living there for 9 years. September should (hopefully) be warmer than it has been this summer. It's been chilly & overcast all summer so far :-/

1. Balboa Park & all it has to offer.
2. In N Out
3. Encinitas--adorable little surf town with lots of cute shops & restaurants.
4. Coronado Island
5. Tower 23 in Pacific Beach for a drink at sunset (this is where we got engaged!)
6. Ocean Beach--funky, quaint, hippy town with lots of great people watching ;)
7. Sea World
8. La Jolla Shores/Cove
9. Old Town/Gaslamp (downtown SD)
10. Phil's BBQ in Sports Arena.

How exciting! Happy almost anniversary! San Diego is one of my favorites spots... I love Basic Pizza near Petco's in a great area, and a trendy/urban restaurant, but not too pricy.

That's an awesome place to visit- I lived in San Diego for 5 years. While the zoo is amazing- the Wild Animal Park will knock your socks off. Instead of animals in cages, they're in their natural habitats... I would much rather go to the Wild Animal Park than the zoo! Have a great trip!

My fav. Beach is Seal Beach but its kinda far ,when we go its not far cause we stay with my Grandma she lives like 20 mins from LA ,So I checked online it would be a 1 hr 48 min drive on a toll road plus traffic or a 2 hr 18 min drive on a non toll road -- I looked at some closer one Solana Beach sounded fun it was 26 plus traffic. But if you wanna stay away from driving so far or just stay closer to San Diego there are lots of great places there too. Read my Mom's comment hers will help.
