ReFOCUS

Hey all!!! Happy Tuesday :) God is working in my heart and has been teaching me about FOCUS! Yesterday was SO needed and I am feeling MUCH better -- more on that to come!

First...

Our Weekend:

Josh and I had a date night on Friday and went to Red Robin! Yum! Guacamole Burger... it was delicious! Then we came home and I fell asleep while watching a movie. Ha, that happens OFTEN.

Saturday: We went to see these girls play basketball. Varsanna & Malia. I nannied these darling girls for two summers :) They are SO much fun and growing so fast. I wish I could see them more often but we live far apart.

On Sunday we had an awesome time at church and I loved the message. It was about WAKING up - not living a "dead" life! It struck a lot of cords in my heart.

Later we had these cute girls over... our nieces! Aimee Marie & Olivia Anne :) It was a little "taste" of parenthood. Quite fun, actually! I am so thankful we have these girls in our lives. It is truly a blessing.

We also had Josh's parents & little brother over to watch the USA/Canada Hockey game in the afternoon. Sad, sad loss for U-S-A! It was fun though!!

Coming back to my ReFOCUS topic... I have a LOT on my plate right now (no pitty-party here, please). I just am trying to reevaluate everything!! God, Josh, being a wife, school, work, photography, social events, planning events, and a health and wellness company that I am a part of. I need to have the RIGHT perspective on all of these "good" things. I tend to spread myself too thin at times and I am feeling really like I need to revisit my PASSIONS.

Josh is AMAZING at fueling and pulling out these passions when I am a "mess". He empowers me to be better and I am so grateful for his leadership as my husband. I couldn't ask for anything more from him - he wants the BEST for me and doesn't care if that means I don't finish my BA degree in college.

In my next few posts... I am excited to share more about what is going to be unfolding. I know some "seasons" are coming to an end and NEW ones are being revisited and beginning. Be excited. I sure am! Our God is in the business of blessings and new-life.

What about you?? What's going on in THIS season of your life?

I am in a perfect, but difficult seaon of my life. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and two beautiful healthy daughters. Not to mention I have great friends in my life. The difficult part is watching the girls grow. I just want to keep them with me forever, but I have to let them start spreading their wings. Good luck with your new beginnings!

I tend to spread myself a little too thin at times too. I have really had to listen better to what path God wants me to head down.

It is all too easy for me to spread myself thin! Thank the Lord for husbands who encourage us!! :)

I've been a little stressed lately, but I have faith that everything will be okay. I always have something to be thankful for...and I'm thankful for that ;)

I completely understand what you mean about refocusing and seeking God for direction. I know that God & hubby are at the top of the list, but sometimes I feel overwhelmed with everything else. How thankful I am that we serve such a loving God who give us direction.

My life is so exhilarating right now! I am so busy this semester and struggling to find time to do everything. Yet at the same time, I'm doing things I love and being more involved in things that will be part of my future. So in this crazy busyness that would normally stress me out, God has given me this joy and peace. :) He's good.

I love your post, Ria. Now seems like a great time to re-focus, as spring is just around the corner and changes are happening all over...especially over at our house! We got out for some fresh air today, that was a new season all in itself since we've been inside sick for the past few weeks! Yay for spring!

For me, understanding "seasons of life" and willing to be "quiet before the Lord" when faced with every new venture is so important. He tells me things I would never have thought of! He opens doors of ministry. He closes doors I thought were jammed open--"have to's"--in my life. My husband is always a gem at seeing clearly what needs to go. God's working on both of us right now, and I know He's getting us ready for something, by teaching us a lot through His Word.
Blessings,
Wendy

Yay for weekends! Looks like you had a great one... and I completely hear ya on the refocusing thing. There's always a lot to balance, but yay for God and husbands to keep us in check. =) I'm excited to hear about the changes coming your way!

p.s. I completely agree about the just wanting to be a momma thing.

Oh my goodness. Can a baby be in your future? I see new life is one of the possible blessings. I know that life is difficult. My husband and I pray multiple times a day for God's guidance. I'm sure whatever is coming up in your life will work out just fine.

So excited to hear about this, and I can't wait to find out more! :-) I am guilty of spreading myself thin too. Just working seven hours a day makes it really hard! I have so much trouble keeping my house together because all I want to do after work is lie down and not MOVE for awhile! ha! That's why my dream and passion is to be a stay-at-home mom someday. I can't wait until THAT season begins :-)

Ria, I love your blog! It's so nice to read about another newlywed pursuing Christ and trying to juggle a semester at college. I feel like it's an interesting place to be! I love your perspective.
