How were your weekends? Heard from the twitter world that there was SNOW in Texas. What? That's crazy!! We had sunshine and it was glorious in the great state of MN.
Josh and I checked out bikes on Friday night. (this was the ONE thing I wanted to accomplish this weekend) We had the assembled Saturday!!! Tough decision: teal or purple?
Decision: Purple
We picked them up on Sunday.
We went for about a 2hour bike ride on Sunday around where we live. We made a stop at Office Max, Menard's, and Target. I liked that we could bike there rather than driving. How sweet it is!
Soooo a question for you... Do YOU wear a helmet? We met a lady while looking at bikes and she informed us that on the trails around our home if you DON'T wear a helmet the kids make fun of you. Ha! I'm not about to have some 7 or 8 year old's make fun of me!! I'm pretty confident in who I am, but I want to be a good example too :) Soo... I gave in and purchased a helmet.

Happy Biking & Happy Monday!

umm yes add Oklahoma to the list of states that celebrated the first day of spring with a freak snow storm!
Aw that sounds like you guys had fun! I love biking and wish we lived in an area that was a little easier to bike around in.
And I never wore a helmet only cuz I couldn't stand wearing it! It made my head all sweating and sticky...haha. But it is probobly a very good thing you are wearing one. Better safe than sorry :D
Have a great Monday Ri!
i never wore a helmet! "/
here in alabama i was gorgeous ALL weekend, and now it's snowing/raining! give me spring!
Awesome! me and the hubby have bikes too and we can't wait to take them out! (hopefully this weekend).
Both of us don't wear helmets, but I think I'm going to get one for myself because you just never know. And also it's an excuse to buy a pretty one!
Love your bikes! Bryan and I have some too, and we're glad it's Spring so we can start riding again. I don't wear a helmet, but he does. I got down to south Texas in time that I missed all the snow!
Glad you had such a great weekend! I love the bikes! Congrats :-)
Here in New Jersey I believe its the law you have to wear a helmet!
You should wear one - better to be safe than sorry. You look cute in your helmet!
Awesome bikes! I so want to get some for me and the hubby... We never wore helmets as kids(did anyone back then?) but I think we would now... better safe than sorry!
Good choice with the purple Ria. :)
As far as helmets go...here in Cali, none of the "hipster" kids wear helmets. Totally an image thing. There have been times in my life when I haven't worn a helmet, even though I was raised wearing one. There's something freeing about the wind in your hair and all.
But I know I would probably have some sort of brain damage if I hadn't worn a helmet growing up. I got into my fair share of bike accidents. During one in particular, my friend ran into me while we were biking on a bridge over the highway. (She was watching the traffic instead of where she was going!) We both fell off our bikes and hit our heads on the cement and chain link fence wall. My helmet was scratched up and it still kinda hurt with a helmet on...imagine if I hadn't been wearing one!! That accident wasn't even my fault either.
So, I guess I'm pro-helmet. Unexpected things happen, even to good bicyclists.
But have fun with your bikes!! Such a great pastime! :)
Well I have never worn a helmet when bike riding, but I don't think it is a bad idea! Besides, it looks cute on you, and if you are going to get made fun of by 7 year olds, why risk it ;)
I think a new bike is going on my birthday list haha. I need to get out there too.
I left you a little something on my blog.
I never wore a helmet when I was a littl girl, but I think I probably would wear one now. What a fun time! I wish we had some great trails nearby our house for bike rides!
Looks like fun times are ahead with your bikes! :)
I hated wearing helmets when I was a kid, but now I'd feel weird not wearing one. I have awful balance and I know I'm likely to fall off my bike one of these days. Stay safe!
I can't wait to do some biking with my hubby too! We have to install the baby trailer at the back of his bike for George to join us. BTW, I got awards for you in my blog and hope you'll like it: http://melcoleofpausa.blogspot.com/2010/03/lovely-four-awards.html
:) Lovely bikes, Ria. I myself am a walker...not really a biker, but then that might have something to do with being one of the only people in the fam who hasn't boughten a bike...haha. I should probably invest in that someday. ;) It's just so much easier walking, though...the library's 4 blocks away. :D
Cute post!
I never wore a helmet when I biked growing up and even now. But it's a good idea to have one, especially when it could possibly save your life. Maybe I'll think about getting one.
Bahahaha!! That is so hilarious! :) You look great in the helmet so why not! :)
Cute bike. Yes we got snow in TX. It was the 3rd time it snowed this year. That is very unlikely in East Texas. Me and my hubby like to ride our bikes and we always wear our helmets. I guess I just feel safer. We ride all over town though and I am just afraid if I don't wear one something will happen. Glad you had a good weekend. XOXO
This is so great, I love the helmet! hehe :)
I want to get a bike too! It's such great exercise!
Just discovered your site. Love the bikes. Wher I live people ride bikes but the traffice is too dangerous for me with 2 small children. I wish they had bike roads! I'm following your blog now! If you have some time could you stop by my site. I could use some inspiration. http://www.simplelivingforall.blogspot.com
Great Bikes! Sounds like you had fun. I wear a helmet but Bear said his head is hard enough without one. We picked up a bike trailer this weekend for grocery shopping. Take care.
I wear a helmet ocasnily. But most of the time I don't
Sounds like fun! And I am all for helmets. I had a friend last summer who was killed in a motorcycle accident, and if he had been wearing a helmet, he most definitely would have survived. (He died from the impact of his unprotected head hitting the pavement. There weren't even any other cars in the accident). So even though you're talking about a regular bike, I am with you and I think helmets are a great idea!!
How fun!!! So funny that they will make fun of you if you don't. That's good though. When I was in school they made fun of you if you did.
