Q&A: Post Tres

Are you sick of these yet?? Last Q&A Post :) These have been so inspiring and it nice to just get on and share my heart. Thanks for listening!!

What is the BEST/Favorite part of married life?
Being with my #1 man for all of life's adventures... morning and night! Before getting married we always wanted to hang out, but it was sometimes difficult balancing work, school, and drive time. Now that we are married - I wake up to him and fall asleep with him :) It is truly the best feeling!

What is the HARDEST thing about being married?
Not being with him 24/7 :) Sometimes I wish we worked together, drove together, spent all of our time together... but then again... it wouldn't make the hello's and goodbye's so special. I tend to miss him a lot, especially the mornings he works early and has night class.

What has been the most SURPRISING thing about married life?
What it's like to live with Joshua! Josh is actually very helpful around the house but silly things don't make sense to me. Like the fact that it's much easier to put his jeans on the floor right next to laundry basket, but not in it. :)

What has been the biggest struggle in our marriage so far?
In the almost six months we've been married ... I had to pause and think about this one. I think that's a good thing! I had to ask Josh for his input on this one. We both agreed it would be learning to sleep in the same bed. That sounds silly, but it's true. Being that we never lived together before OR slept together - it took some getting used to!

Ria, Dad wants to know who makes the coffee in the house? Who makes the bed in the morning?
Haha, this question came from my mama :) Our routine is that Josh makes the bed while I head downstairs to get his coffee ready and breakfast! It's a pretty good trade if you ask me. For those that don't know... I'm not a coffee drinker. Coming from parents who are CRAZY about coffee this is a quite the surprise... and my hubby who is coffee-man.

Does Joshy keep the bathroom clean? tehehehe (this is from my sister-in-law Steph :)
Surprisingly that is his chore... the bathrooms! Cute question - we sometimes get lazy and let it get pretty bad :( Yes, we are human!

What is your favorite date night combination?
Out to dinner and a nice walk... in the fall... with a cute sweater on... hand in hand... oh nice weather, please come soon!!

Biggest spiritual blessing to come out of marriage?
LEARNING SELFLESSNESS to another level. Wow! I heard the quote, "having kids makes you soo much more like Jesus". Well, getting married has helped too. I love my husband so much and I love sacrificing for him! I have learned how to find joy in saying "no" to other opportunities when it would interfere with my Josh time (there are some exceptions of course).

What one piece of marriage advice would you give to a newlywed couple?
It's okay to not do anything and just vege together! I am such a go-go-planner-productive person... there are many nights where we just hang out watching Amazing Race re-runs or play games. We don't always have to do productive things! Marriage is meant to be fun and building memories is sooooo much more important! And... keep Jesus #1!!!

Back to your regular scheduled program tomorrow :)

Great answers! I agree, one of the hardest things about being married is not getting to be together all the time! I hate it when we have to part ways for work every day or when he has to be gone late for school. Ugh! I miss him all day long.
Stay strong and keep Jesus #1 and y'all will always have an amazing marriage!!!

My husband and I are coming up to our seven year anniversary and with a 17 month old (and hopefully the homecoming of an adopted baby in the works for this year) sometimes we lose sight of what it was like in those first months of marriage. Thanks for the reminder. Your advice to newly married couples is good...but here's mine: don't wish away one single day. Don't try to hurry God's timing in anything. His timing is perfect, anyway! So, take each day as it comes, basking in the love of your God and your spouse.

We still love being together every single day. We're the kind of couple that talk on the phone off and on during the day, and really MISS each other when we're not together. It's a blessing.

Ria, I loved reading these!
