What's your Fragrance?

ריה
"Ria" in Hebrew

Yesterday, I had a fascinating experience at work. I have not talked much about my workplace on my blog. Daily, I find myself extremely thankful for the workplace the Lord has allowed me to work in. I work as a receptionist at a Large Medical Device Company in Mpls. They have some amazing benefits and I couldn't be more grateful. It is a gift from God, for sure!

As a receptionist, I greet many visitors that enter and exit through the doors. Three gentleman were about to leave yesterday and they needed a Taxi. I made arrangements and as they were waiting... they began speaking in another language. I was trying to figure out what they were speaking, but finally asked. They told me it was Hebrew. What a BEAUTIFUL language!!

I told them openly that I love reading the Bible (I said this because they spoke Hebrew and HOW cool would it be to read the parts of the Bible in the original language!) We got to talking about Judaism and Christianity and it was all together fascinating and eye-opening!

I then asked them what my name meant in Hebrew. Ria? They got excited and all collaborated that it meant, "A sweet smelling fragrance". I was amazed. It made me immediately think about a verse that was spoken over me while I spent the year away at The Honor Academy...

"For we are to God the aroma/fragrance of Christ..."
2 Corinthians 2:15

Translation: I want to be the aroma/fragrance of Christ to people in my life! I am honored that my name would mean a sweet smelling fragrance and I pray that my actions reflect that. I want to smell like Christ!! What a sweet smell... better then ANY perfume on the market... even my fav... Light Blue by D&G :)

There's a band at Biola that is called the Fragrance, based off of that verse. You can check out their music here:
