OUCH!

My weekend was full of snow tubing, fireplaces, learning about God, teenagers, and a trip to the ER. Yes, you heard me right... The Emergency Room!

Friday night the cute girls in my cabin and I hit the pillows at about 1:00 a.m. I reminded the girlies before they went to bed that if they needed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night... to wake me up! I would go with them (it was outside in another building). Around 3:00 a.m. what do you know? I was the one who had to go potty. I was secretly hoping that one of the girls would come wake me up!!!

Shortly after this thought I heard a "kirrrplunkkk"... Oh my word! One of the girls rolled and in her sleep fell off the top bunk. Yikes! I whispered, "hunny - are you okay??" She responded by saying, "Yeahhh, I'm fine." Offta. It didn't sound fine to me.

*5 minutes later*

She comes "wakes" me up (remember I was already slightly awake, because I had to go to the potty!) ... saying she thought she hit her head. Yes, she sure did. She had a slit cut under her right eyebrow, just above her eye. There was DEFINITELY blood involved.. and ...I was in shock! I quickly gathered my thoughts and calmly told her to put her coat on - we were going to go to the bathroom to take a better look.

On the way... I called the other leaders (my hubby & in-laws) no one was answering! I didn't know what to do... Thankfully Andrea (another leader that hadn't made it up yet) answered. I thought she may have the # to a contact person at the camp. A nurse or our contact?

Long story short ... fast forward to me guessing as to what cabin my mother-in-law was in (she was one of the other woman leaders) finding her with my cell phone light in a dark cabin and waking her up... asking her for help! We had no idea at when stitches were needed for cuts? What size? It was looking pretty deep... We called her parents... and...

We decided to take her to the ER in Brainerd (30 min away)... Sherrill woke Mark up (youth pastor and my father-in-law) we happened to get pulled over by a cop on the way... he let us go... 4 hours later this sweet girl had a plastic surgeon stitch up her poor eye cut. She was SUCH A TROOPER! No tears were shed, no complaining, she was SO thankful. She kept thanking us for waking up and taking her.

Look at her GORGEOUS smile!

OF COURSE!! We arrived back to the camp around 7:30 a.m. and saw the BEAUTIFUL moon and SUNRISE... (remember this post) I was hoping I'd see the beautiful sunrise up north! It happened in and unexpected way but it was soooo worth it! I felt terrible for this darling girl, poor thing, she just rolls in her sleep.

Oh, by the way... I got to use the bathroom too... A small blessing in disguise?

The rest of the weekend looked like this...

Incredible worship, powerful and real teachings, and a LOT of fun. I believe that the Lord spoke to these beautiful teenagers. The whole theme was about the importance of daily spending time in the bible and prayer. SOoOoO good!

I had some amazing girls in my cabin. So sweet! Precious and gorrrgeous (outside & inside!)

Ps. Nail polish giveaway ends tonight at 11:59 :) I will be using random.org to determine the winner and announce tomorrow! Thanks for participating. I am SO blessed by the lovely readers of "Life as a Wife!"

Blessings... Don't be afraid to pause and slow down at some point today!
