Book of Eli

Happy Saturday Friends!

I love weekends all too much... and they tend to go VERY fast. This weekend I have an extra day off [Monday], because it is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Fun! I will take it :)

Last night we went and saw this movie...

With these fun people...

What an INTERESTING and THOUGHT-PROVOKING movie! I honestly did not know too much about it... and heard it was rated R for violence. I agree, it definitely was violent. I do not like violence and gorey movies AT ALL. I heard that there were "christian-themes" in the movie and thought it would be worth while. Let me tell you... IT WAS worth while. Once I got past the violence [that actually had a point it was not just for fun].

I am not writing this to get mixed reviews from my blog family and cause a huge discussion. I am wanting to say that this movie quotes scripture and the underlying theme is FAITH. Total faith when the world is ending. One man. Being diligent in what he knew the Lord spoke to him. It was really convicting to my own heart and I think it will cause many of the movie-goers to think about what IS going to happen? What WILL the world come to? What is the "Book of Eli" or "Word of God"?

I love this verse: "We live by faith and NOT by sight" 1 Corinthians 5:7

I want to live by faith and not by the "sight" of the world. We live for a heavenly kingdom and I pray that through my life (and blog!) this will be evident. I want Jesus to be my #1 and hide his word in my heart.

We of course couldn't end the night [at the movie theater] without this...

Joshy and I are "kids" at heart. We love racing and arcades :) I hope you all have a BLESSED weekend! Check in with ya tomorrow... we have the big Vikings game. I am married to one of the biggest Vikings fans!!
